RICHARDSON, TX (10.26.19) - Seven different players scored as the UT Dallas men's soccer team closed out the home portion of the regular season Saturday afternoon with a 10-0 drubbing of Louisiana College in American Southwest Conference play.
The win moved the Comets to 13-3-2 overall and temporarily atop the ASC standings with a 7-1-2 league mark (23 points). With just one game left to play, UTD has secured a first round home game in the ASC Tournament next week and could still potentially host both the semifinals and title match, pending next week's results from around the league. The Comets will close the regular season Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark.
Sophomore
Oliver Hamby recorded his first collegiate "hat trick" as he led the Comet scoring barrage in the lop-sided victory.
Jovi Munoz scored twice while five other UTD players each tallied against the visiting Wildcats (1-15, 1-9 ASC).
Hashem Shehata came off the bench to collect a goal and three assists.
The Comets finished the contest with 43 shots, six shy of the program record, and took 22 shots on frame in the win. In comparison, the UTD defense limited the Wildcats to just one shot, that coming on target late in the second half.
