Women's Soccer Season Likely Over After Semifinal Draw With UMHB

ABILENE, TX (11.08.19) - The UT Dallas women's soccer team battled Mary Hardin-Baylor to a scoreless draw in the semifinals of the American Southwest Conference Tournament Friday night, but were eliminated from the event after a 2-1 decision in penalty kicks.

The Comets will likely close their 2019 campaign with a 15-2-4 overall record, one win shy of matching the program record for victories in a season for the third consecutive campaign. UTD advanced to at least the semifinal round of the ASC Tournament for the 18th straight fall.

Third-seeded UTD finished the match with 13 shots over the 110 minutes, closing the draw with six shots on target. No. 2 seed UMHB (12-6-2) took 22 shots in the match, eight on frame. The Comets upended UMHB, 2-1, in the regular season.

Senior Stephanie White and junior Keely Fillman each finished with three shots in the tie while Bailee Davis took two shots. UTD keeper Morgan Sherman made eight saves.
