MEMPHIS, TN (09.15.19) - The UT Dallas men's soccer team limited Hendrix to just one shot as the Comets blanked the Warriors, 3-0, to wrap up the Volgas Memorial Tournament on the campus of Rhodes College Sunday afternoon.
The Comets (5-1) earned their fifth straight win and third shutout of the fall, getting goals from three different players.
Jovi Munoz recorded his team-leading fifth tally of season with a penalty kick in the 18th minute while teammates
Jesse Ardila and
Jordan Henderson each tacked on second-half goals for UTD.
UTD keeper
John Nicknish did not have to record a save in the victory as his back line did not give up a shot on frame throughout the 90 minutes. Hendrix managed its only shot in the opening half.
In comparison, the Comets took 27 shots in the win, 13 of which were on target, with
Hunter Williams leading the way four shots of his own. Ardila took three shots while a quartet of Comets took two shots each.
The Comets return to action next weekend with a pair of home games to close non-conference play. UTD will host Fontbonne at 7 p.m. Friday before closing the weekend at 1:30 p.m. Sunday against Emory.
