RICHARDSON, TX (09.07.19) - Thanks to a chip shot by senior Jordan Henderson with just under two minutes left in regulation, the UT Dallas men's soccer out-dueled Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 1-0, Saturday night in a crucial early-season, in-region contest.

The Comets improved to 3-1 on the young the season after Saturday's victory and will return to the road next weekend to compete in the Volgas Memorial Tournament in Memphis, Tenn.  UTD will face event-host Rhodes at 4:30 p.m. Friday before meeting up with Hendrix at 12 p.m. Sunday.

Visiting C-M-S (2-2) finished the loss with an impressive 15 shots, but managed just one shot on frame the entire night. That shot was saved by Comet keeper John Nicknish late in the opening half.

Henderson's goal came at the 87:10 mark as he shot was just the Comets' ninth shot on the night. Henderson received a long pass from down the middle from teammate Brad Rivenes, which drew out the C-M-S keeper, and right-footed the ball to the back of the net. UTD finished with just five shots on goal in the victory.

Jesse Ardila led the Comets with four shots while Henderson came off the bench for two shots.
