RICHARDSON, TX (02.22.20) - The No. 17-ranked UT Dallas women's basketball team wrapped up the regular season with a 69-57 home win over McMurry in American Southwest Conference crossover play.
The Comets will enter next week's ASC Tournament as the No. 1 seed out the league's East Division and will host the event for the second time in program history. Now at 21-4 overall (15-1 ASC), the Comets kick off the postseason at 7:30 p.m. against Concordia Texas in the opening round of the eight-team league tournament.
Senior
Victoria Pena, UTD's all-time leading scorer, paced all scorers Saturday with a season-high tying 32 points, draining six three-pointers, while adding five rebounds and three assists and was one of six Comets honored in a post-game ceremony as part of Senior Day activities. Other seniors recognized Saturday were

The Comets struggled to put away McMurry early, but still held a 34-25 lead at the break. The War Hawks, now losers of 12 straight contests, rallied back in the 3rd to cut the UTD lead to eight points, but the Comets closed strong with a 21-point final frame.
UTD shot 42.9 percent (27-of-63) for the game as a team, draining 11 three-pointers, while making 4-of-8 shots from the foul line.
Kelley Skinner joined Pena in double figures, ending with 12 points while Gunther pulled down a team-best eight rebounds.
