UT Dallas Men Roll Past Tigers for Crucial ASC Road Victory

MARSHALL, TX (10.16.21) - Four different Comets scored as the UT Dallas men's soccer team earned a 4-0 road win over East Texas Baptist Saturday night in ASC play.

Winners of their last three games, the Comets (9-3-3, 5-1-2 ASC) remain in the hunt for the ASC regular-season championship, currently sitting in fourth place in the league with two games left on their schedule. UTD wraps up its three-game road trip next Saturday with a 4:30 p.m. game at Belhaven.

The Comets recorded their seventh shutout of the fall after playing a man up against ETBU for the majority of the contest. Brandon Bohn started the scoring with a penalty kick in the sixth minute before Tiger Juan Cairo collected his second yellow card in the 13th minute, limiting ETBU to just 10 players for the remainder of the match.

Joe Ruedi pushed the Comet lead to 2-0 by the half as he tallied his first goal of the season in the 34th minute, assisted by Riley O'Donnell. Alan Beaney added a Comet goal in the 53rd minute, assisted by Bohn and Oliver Hamby. Brandon Buchanan scored the final goal of the night in the 63rd minute, assisted by O'Donnell.

UTD closed the victory with 26 shots, 13 on frame, with 14 corner kicks. The Comet defense limited ETBU to just one shot in the contest, that coming with just under 30 minutes left to play.
