ABILENE, TX (11.02.21) - The 2021 season for the UT Dallas women's soccer team came to a close Tuesday afternoon with a 4-0 road loss to Hardin-Simmons in the quarterfinal round of the ASC Championship Tournament.

The Comets wrapped up the fall campaign with a 10-8 overall record, recording their 20th 10-win season over the 25-year history of the program.

UTD finished the match with just six total shots, two on frame, as the ASC regular-season champion Cowgirls dominated possession of the contest. HSU took 19 shots, eight on target, with two goals in each half.

The Cowgirls opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a tally by Kaylee Maddox and added a goal by Gabrielle Aviles in the 24th minute to stake a claim to a 2-0 lead at the break. Aviles added a second goal in the 48th minute before Randie Dennison added a final tally in the 76th minute.

Sierra Foster led the Comets with two shots, one target, while four other UTD players recorded one shot each. Comet keeper Jade Press made four saves, making her second start of the season.

The Comets were making their 20th consecutive and 22nd all-time appearance in the ASC Championship.
