CLARKSVILLE, AR (02.26.21) - Senior Merek Byckovski netted a header late in the first half as the UT Dallas men's soccer team earned a hard-fought 1-0 road victory over Ozarks Friday afternoon in the Comets' season opener.

Byckovski was on the receiving end of an Arturo Ponce cross from a free kick from the right in the 32nd minute to account for all the offense in the defensive battle. The Comets managed eight shots on the day, two each by Brian Rahmoune and Brandon Buchanan, while keeper John Nicknish collected two saves in a shutout.

The Comets (now 1-0, 1-0 ASC) return to the pitch Thursday night as they host these same Eagles at 7:30 p.m. at the UTD Soccer Field.
