LONGVIEW, TX (02.04.21) - The UT Dallas men's basketball team posted another scorching offensive performance as the Comets downed LeTourneau, 102-89, Thursday night in American Southwest Conference East Division play.
The Comets (now 5-2, 3-2 ASC) shot 58.1 percent as a team from the field and connected on 7-of-12 three-pointers as they handed the ASC East-leading YellowJackets their second league loss of the season.

Dimitrius Underwood finished the victory just one rebound and one assist shy of his third 'triple-double' of the season, closing the night with 30 points, nine rebounds, nine assists and four steals. Underwood was 13-of-28 from the floor and 3-for-3 from the free-throw line as one of four Comets to reach double-digit scoring.
The two teams battled through multiple lead changes and six ties in the opening half before UTD finished the period strong and secured a 51-42 lead at intermission. The Comets and YellowJackets were knotted up at 36-36 with just under five minutes to play in the half before UTD rolled off a 15-2 run to push its lead to double digits. LETUÂ closed the half with four straight points to avoid a double-digit deficit at the break.
The host YellowJackets (now 5-2, 3-2 ASC) trimmed their deficit to just five points early in the second half after and would get back within five points two more times over the first five minutes of the period, but they would draw no closer the rest of the night.
The Comets took back a double-digit lead for good with 7:27 left to play when
Kameron Pruitt propelled UTD to an 86-76 cushion with a three-pointer. The Comets extended their lead to as many as 14 points down the stretch before setting for the 13-point victory.
Michael Forster closed the game with 25 points on 10-of-13 accuracy, hitting three treys, while
Kelden Pruitt added 14 points and
Will Isaac came off the bench for 12 points. Stevens dished out a career-high 10 assists.
UTD topped the century mark for the third time in past four games and is currently averaging a record-setting pace 87.6 points per outing through seven games.
The Comets return to action Saturday afternoon with another ASC East road game at East Texas Baptist. Tip-off is 3 p.m. in Marshall.
