Comets Roll to 3-0 Win Over LeTourneau in Home Opener

RICHARDSON, TX (03.13.21) - Junior Jovi Munoz scored twice as the UT Dallas men's soccer team cruised to a 3-0 home win over LeTourneau Saturday night in American Southwest Conference play.

The Comets (now 3-0) recorded their second shutout in three games to start the season and will return to action next Saturday, March 20, with a road game at East Texas Baptist in Marshall.

Jardel Kuate got things started with his first goal of the season in the 16th minute thanks to a cross from teammate Arturo Ponce. Munoz tallied his first goal of the night in the 17th minute and then added a penalty kick in the 19th minute as the Comets got all their offense before the break.

The Comets finished with 26 shots, 10 on frame, with Munoz leading the squad in both shots (7) and shots on goal (4). UTD limited the YellowJackets to just three total shots, two of which were on goal. Starting goalkeeper John Nicknish played the opening half with two saves while Trey Nickel did not need a save in her second-half outing.
