RICHARDSON, TX (03.27.21) - The UT Dallas men's tennis team snapped a three-match losing streak with a 9-0 home victory over East Texas Baptist Saturday afternoon in American Southwest Conference East Division play.

The Comets (now 4-6, 2-0 ASC East) grabbed a 3-0 lead after doubles play before collecting six straight-set victories in singles action. The tandem of RItvik Ganesan and Noah Sam was the first to complete their doubles duel, earning an 8-1 win at No. 3. Jed De Luna and Nick Boquet claimed an 8-4 win at No. 2 before top-flighted Ashwin Vaithianathan and John Edwards closed the doubles sweep with an 8-7 (7-2) win.

Vaithianathan was the first Comet singles player to dispatch their opponent, claiming a 6-1, 6-0, at No. 1 before Ganesan clinched the team victory with a 6-1, 6-4, win at No. 3. Edwards (No. 2, 6-4, 6-4), Boquet (No. 4, 6-3, 6-2), de Luna (No. 5, 6-2, 6-1) and Sam (No. 6, 6-0, 6-0) also won by straight sets.

The Comets continue their home stand Friday with matches against Louisiana College and Western New Mexico.
