ALPINE, TX (03.06.21) - The UT Dallas softball team closed its three-game American Southwest Conference series at Sul Ross State Saturday with a 10-6 loss to the Lobos.

The Comets (now 1-10, 1-5 ASC) will return to action Mar. 19-20 with a three-game ASC home set with Concordia Texas at the UTD Softball Field.

Michaela Kanetzy blasted a grand slam in the top of the 3rd to lift the Comets to an early 4-1 lead over host SRSU, but the lead was short-lived as the Lobos answered with a run in the bottom of the frame and four more tallies in the 4th. SRSU then tacked on two runs in each the 5th and 6th and to put the game away.

Kanetzy, who finished 2-for-4 with six RBI, would add a two-run double in the top of the 7th to draw the Comets back within four runs, but would be stranded on second to end the game.

Sul Ross is now 5-0 on the season.
