RICHARDSON, TX (04.10.21) - The UT Dallas softball team wrapped up a three-game American Southwest Conference home series with No. 10-ranked Belhaven Saturday afternoon with a 10-2 loss at the UTD Softball Field.

The Comets (now 3-22, 1-17 ASC) will look to bounce back next weekend as they continue their six-game home stand with a three-game series against Louisiana College, starting a with a 5 p.m. single game Friday night.

The ASC East-leading Blazers (now 23-6, 15-3 ASC) jumped to a big lead early in the game, taking a 7-0 advantage after three innings. UTD got on the board in the bottom of the 4th on an Avery Markley solo home run, her team-leading third of the spring, and got a second run in the 5th on a Sarah Lewis RBI single, scoring Jordan Evans. BU tacked on three more runs in the top of the 6th to complete the run-rule victory.

Evans was 2-for-3 for the Comets, picking up half of UTD's hits in the contest. Lewis and Markley were each 1-for-3.
