BELTON, TX (04.10.21) - Making its seventh consecutive trip to the American Southwest Conference championship match, the No. 3-ranked UT Dallas volleyball team had its 2020-21 season come to a close with a 3-0 loss to No. 8 Mary Hardin-Baylor Saturday afternoon.
The Comets (15-1) suffered their only loss of the spring after hitting a season-low .127 as a team in Saturday's title title against UMHB (16-2).
Catherine Croft led the squad with 13 kills while
Madison Ball finished with 12 kills.
Croft was impressive for the Comets in the opening set, collecting seven kills with just one error before UTD dropped the stanza, 25-20. The Comets had their best team attack percentage of the match in the first set, hitting .208 as a squad.
The Comets hit just .140 in a 25-18 loss in set two and .051 in a 25-19 loss in set three as the Cru completed the sweep.
Rachel Baxter corralled a match-high 26 digs in the match while Ball and Croft each had 16 digs.
Sydney Fitt had 17 assists while
Emma Sevening finished with 15 assists.
The Comets were making their 11th all-time appearance in the ASC title match in the program's 17-year history.
