JACKSON, MS (04.10.21) - The UT Dallas women's tennis team improved to 3-0 in American Southwest Conference East Division play Saturday afternoon with a 9-0 road win at Belhaven.
The Comets (now 7-3 overall) gave up just a single game in their three doubles matches before rolling to six straight-set wins in singles action.
Suzuka Nishino and
Svaksha Iyengar teamed up for an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles to open the match before No. 1 tandem of
Kathy Joseph and
Samantha Wong added its own 8-0 win.
Rebecca Jackson and
Saumya Vedula added an 8-1 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Joseph was the first Comet to close out their singles match, earning a 6-0, 6-0, win at No. 1 before Vedula secured the team victory with a 6-0, 6-0, win at No. 3. Wong (No. 2 , 6-0, 6-0), Nishino (No. 4, 6-0, 6-0), Jackson (No. 5, 6-1, 6-0) and
Stephanie Joseph (No. 6, 6-0, 6-0) all added singles wins.
The Comets return to the court to close out ASC East play on Saturday, Apr. 24, with a road match at LeTourneau.
