GEORGETOWN, TX (09.10.21) - Despite snagging an early lead, the UT Dallas men's soccer team closed its non-conference road match at Southwestern Friday night with a 1-1 tie after two overtimes.
Brandon Bohn gave the Comets the lead in the 11th minute with his third tally of the fall and that lead would until the 56th minute when the host Pirates found the equalizer by Fernando Garduno. The two squads managed just four total shots over the two extra periods as both defenses clamped down late.
The Comets (2-1-1) took 14 shots on the night, six on target, with
Riley O'Donnell lead the squad with five shots. Southwestern took 11 shots, 5 on frame. UTD keeper
Trey Nickel played the full 110 minutes in goal and made four saves.
UTD will continue its Central/South Texas swing Sunday afternoon with a 4 p.m. road game at Trinity in San Antonio.
