CONWAY, AR (09.03.21) - Making its first road trip of the fall, the UT Dallas men's soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss to Rhodes Friday afternoon to open the Hendrix Invitational.
The Comets (1-1) will close the event at 2 p.m. Sunday when they face host Hendrix at Warrior Soccer Field.
Rhodes opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a tally by Eli Pilcher, but the Comets would counter in the 20th minute with a goal by
Riley O'Donnell, assisted by
Jardel Kuate, to knot the game, 1-1, at halftime. However, the Lynx added two second half goals to pull away and earn the victory.
The Comets close the loss a 16-10 shot advantage over Rhodes, finishing the contest with eight shots on frame.
Adrian Vasquez led UTD with four shots while
Josh Matthews took three shots. Comet keeper
Trey Nickel made three saves.
