RESULTS
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The UT Dallas men's cross country placed eighth and the Comet women were 12th at the DBU Old Glory Gallop at Lynn Creek Park Saturday night.
The Comet men were the highest-finishing of the four Division III teams in the mostly scholarship program field. Junior
Graeme Maclean took 41st place with an 8K time of 26:31.0, followed by graduate student
Trent Sakakini in 43rd at 26:34.8.
Senior
Griffin Davis finished in 26:43.9, taking 50th place and freshman
Christopher Castro ran a personal best 26:45.1 to earn 52nd. Junior
Devan Bailey was 66th with a time of 27:21.9.
Besides Castro,
Javion Zavala,
Andy Hamze,
Brennan Hilts,
Gavin Thomas and
Luke Pearson recorded personal collegiate bests in the 8K.

The UTD women were also the highest-placing DIII program on the 5K course. Sophomore
Sage Herrera paced the Comets in 19:49.9, placing 56th. Sophomore
Rebeca Betanzo was just behind in 59th place in 19:57.5. Freshman
Hannah Edwards ran personal-best 20:57.5, finishing in 93rd. Fellow freshman
Abby Valdez was 115th in 22:08.5 for a personal record and junior
Jocelyn Heckenkamp rounded out the scoring with a 117th place finish in 22:19.4. Freshman
Aparna Amarneethi also posted a personal best time.
The Old Glory Gallop was the last tune-up before the American Southwest Conference Championships in Marshall, Texas on October 29.
