Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Comets Shutout YellowJackets 3-0

RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's soccer team topped LeTourneau 3-0 in American Southwest Conference play at the UTD Soccer Complex Thursday night.

The Comets (6-4-4, 2-2-2 ASC) opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Luke Deats header off a throw-in was saved and rebounded in by junior defender Kayson Marriott.

Another goal came off a throw-in that found Riley O'Donnell, who split a pair of defenders and and fired a cross to the left that freshman Nate Patton drove in from the front of the goal.

The third goal was in the 60th minute after a long Comet possession, Adrian Solano sent a ball back to Marriott who took off and found a racing Kane Kidwell. The junior midfielder rocketed a shot from 15 meters out for the final score of the game.

The Comets outshot the YellowJackets (4-6-4, 0-4-2) 24-6 overall and 12-4 on goal. UTD led in corner kicks 8-1 and 13-9 in fouls.

UT Dallas Notes
- The shutout was the fourth of the year for the Comets and fourth for Michael Hesse, who stopped four shots.
- The goal was the first in Nate Patton's career.
- Marriott recorded his third goal and second game-winner of the year.
- O'Donnell had his assist of the year and eighth of his career.
- Deats and Solano both had the second assist of their years.

LeTourneau Notes
- Nahum Serrano took three shots, two on goal for the YellowJackets.
- Garrett Thom and Bridger Roberdeau each had a shot on goal.
- Raul Torrez recorded seven saves.
