MARSHALL, TX (03.25.22) - The UT Dallas men's tennis team kicked off ASC East Division play Friday afternoon with a 9-0 road win over East Texas Baptist.

The Comets improved to 5-3 overall with Friday's win and will return home next Saturday, Apr. 2, when they host LeTourneau in another ASC East duel. Match time is 2 p.m. at the UTD Tennis Courts.
 
Top-flghted Ashwin Vaithianathan and John Edwards along with No. 3 tandem of Mario Dominguez and Aryan Sharma secured identical 8-3 wins to open doubles play before Nick Boquet and Carlos De Leon wrapped up the doubles sweep with an 8-6 win at No. 2 to push the Comets to a quick 3-0 lead.

Ritvik Ganesan opened singles play with a 6-2, 6-1, win over ETBU's Brycen Fears at No. 5 singles and Vaithianathan wrapped up the team victory with a 6-1, 6-1, win at No. 1 over Randal Lemmon. Edwards (No. 2, 7-5, 6-1), Sharma (No. 3, 6-0, 7-6), Boquet (No. 4, 6-0, 6-3) and De Leon (No. 6, 6-2, 6-1) each added straight-set victories.
