ABILENE, TX (03.26.22) - The UT Dallas softball team snapped a season-long six-game losing skid Saturday with a 5-3 road win over McMurry to close a three-game ASC series with the War Hawks.
The Comets (16-9, 8-7 ASC) will look to build on Saturday's victory next weekend with a three-game ASC home set with Sul Ross State. The two teams will open play with a 4 p.m. doubleheader Friday with a 12 p.m. single game Saturday at the UTD Softball Field. Prior to Saturday's contest, UTD will recognize the senior members of the squad.
UTD recorded all its offense in the top of the 2nd inning, scoring five runs, all with two outs, on five hits as four different Comets collected RBI in the frame.

Nicole Peters.
Avery Markley then added a run with a walk, followed by a two-run single up the middle by
Megan Todd. After a War Hawk pitching change, UTD tacked on one final run with a single to left by
Cole Johnson.
McMurry (15-10, 9-8 ASC) got a run back in the bottom of the 2nd and scored twice in the 5th, but left the tying runs on base.
Devyn Yanello (5-1) earned the complete-game victory, giving up two earned runs on six hits in 7.0 innings of work. Yanello struck out one and walk another. Peters finished the game 2-for-3 with a run scored while Todd was 2-for-4 with two RBI.
