DALLAS, TX (04.16.22) - The UT Dallas men's tennis team took a break from ASC play on Saturday and suffered a 5-2 loss at NCAA D-I Southern Methodist at the SMU Indoor Courts.

Ashwin Vaithianathan and Ryan Au Yeung both earned singles wins against the host the Mustangs after the Comets (7-6) dropped the singles decision in doubles action.

Vaithianathan claimed a 6-4, 6-4, win over SMU's Jordi Redelijk at No. 1, while Au Yeung collected a 6-4, 6-1, win over Eli Susser at No. 6.

The Comets return to action Tuesday with a 3 p.m. non-conference home match against NCAA D-II Southeastern Oklahoma.
