Women's Soccer Season Ends in ASC Quarterfinals

RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer season came to an end Tuesday afternoon in the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament Quarterfinals with a 3-0 loss to McMurry at UTD Soccer Field.

The fifth-seeded War Hawks (11-4-4) got on the board in the 40th minute with a goal by Jaelynn Portillo, assisted by Emily Holland. In the second half, Holland added two goals - one in the 52nd minute and a penalty kick in the 66th.

McMurry outshot UTD (9-2-7) 14-11 overall and 7-3 on goal. The War Hawks had more corner kick opportunities (5-4) and committed more fouls (12-7).

UT Dallas Notes
- The Comets tied for the second fewest losses in a season with two and broke the record with seven ties.
- Senior midfielder Sierra Foster took four shots, two on goal.
- Freshman Brooke Crow had two shots, one on goal.
- Ashlynn Thomas, Kaitlyn Futschik, Rylyn Reyes, Kate Crowe and Faith Autery also each took a shot.
- Jade Press stopped four shots in 84 minutes in goal. Marianna Gonzalez had a perfect 6 minutes.
- Peyton Guidry, Jenna Wilkinson and Foster played all 90 minutes.

McMurry Notes
- The War Hawks advance to Thursday's Semifinals in Abilene and will meet top-seeded Mary Hardin-Baylor.
- Holland, the league's leading scorer, recorded two goals and an assist on five shots, two on goal.
- Portillo had six shots, three on goal with the game-winner.
- McKenna Standifer also recorded an assist.
- Madison Black had two shots, one on goal and Katie Wilson also added a shot on goal.
- Cortlyn Boone recorded two saves in 86 minutes, while Lauren Marlow had one in the combined shutout.
- Brooklyn Grove, Wilson, Kaylee Worth, Standifer, Grace Singleton and Alexis Lira played all 90 minutes.
