RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team earned a 70-59 victory over Hendrix at the UTD Activity Center Tuesday afternoon.
The Comets (2-2) led the entire game, leading 36-23 at the half. The Warriors (1-3) cut the deficit to five points at 49-44 with just under 10 minutes to play, but UTD answered with a 9-0 run to hold off the visitors from Arkansas. The Comets' biggest lead was 14.
UT Dallas shot 39.3 percent (24-of-61) from the field, 7-of-25 from three-point range and 15-of-23 at the free throw line. They also recorded 46 rebounds, 13 assists, 14 turnovers, eight blocks and 12 steals. The Comets had season-highs in rebounds, blocks and steals and committed the fewest turnovers in a game this season.
Hendrix shot 32.2 percent (19-of-59) overall, 6-of-21 from outside and 15-of-18 at the line with 38 rebounds, 13 assists, 18 turnovers, two blocks and five steals.

Donovan Souter recorded his third consecutive game of 20 points or more, netting 22. He also had five rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals.

Nick Donnelly scored 20 points with three assists and two steals. It was his second 20+ performance of the season. Donnelly also went 6-for-6 at the free throw line and is now a perfect 20-for-20 on the year.
- Junior guard
Luke Kiser recorded 10 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals. He moved into ninth place on the Comets' career steals list with 98.

Matthew Soto scored seven points off the bench.
- Forward
Jordan Balderaz led the Comets with eight rebounds off the bench and scored five points.
- Freshman
Franklin Onyeme came off the bench to post four points, five rebounds and four blocks.
