RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's tennis lost 4-5 to #38 Hardin-Simmons at the UTD Tennis Courts Saturday afternoon.
In the battle of divisional favorites in the American Southwest Conference, the visiting Cowboys (3-2) started the match by taking all three doubles battles from the Comets (1-1).
Nathan Qi and
Ritvik Ganesan had the closest doubles matchup at No. 2, falling to the West Region's 10th-ranked tandem of James Moore and Desmond O'Shea 8-6.Â
UTD took four of the singles matches with wins at two, four, five and six. Eddy Shyten defeated Moore 6-3, 6-4 in the second spot, while Ganesan won over O'Shea 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4.Â
Sophomore
Aryan Sharma defeated Davyn Williford 6-4, 6-2 at number 5 and
Jed De Luna won 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 at number six.
The Comets will host NCAA Division II opponent Harding on Sunday at 11 a.m.
