SUGAR LAND, Texas - The UT Dallas baseball team defeated St. Thomas (Texas) 7-3 at Constellation Field Tuesday night.
 The Comets (3-1) got on the board in the top of the first when second baseman 
Andrew Skivington led off with a double and designated hitter 
Grayson Coltharp drove him in with a base hit down the right field line.
The Celts (5-2) tied it up in the bottom of the frame when Cameron McClure walked and scored on a Jeffery Williams hit. 
UTD took control of the game with a four-run fifth inning. Coltharp singled in Skivington, who led off with a walk, and first baseman 
Robert Hines hit a bases loaded triple in the inning. UST picked up another run in the fifth to make the game 5-2, but the Comets added two more runs on hit by 
Kade Turnage in the sixth. The Celts scored one more run in the bottom of the sixth for the final 7-3 score.
St. Thomas outhit UTD 15-11.
UT Dallas Notes
- Skivington was 2-for-3 with a double, two walks and three runs scored from the leadoff spot.
- Hines went 3-for-5 with three batted in.
- Coltharp recorded two hits and drove in two runs.
- Turnage also knocked in a pair of runs.
- 
Connor Ray (1-0) earned the win on the mound, throwing two innings and allowing three hits and striking out one.
- 
Caleb Vuono threw one scoreless innings, as did 
Jake Jennings.
- 
Ben Price fanned three batters in two scoreless frames.
- The Comet pitching staff picked off two runners.
St. Thomas Notes
- Dylan Lamb led off for the Celts, going 3-for-4 with a triple and a run scored.
- Leo Galvan was 3-for-5.
- Williams and Mason Seay each had a double.
- Paul Baba, Cole Grimes, Jamie Montemayor, Alex Trinh and Nick Alumai each threw a scoreless inning.
