RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's tennis team defeated Dallas 8-1 at the UTD Tennis Courts on a cold Friday evening.
The Comets (2-2) eased through doubles to gain a 3-0 lead. The top tandem of
Snehin Yerragudi and
Eddy Shteyn won 8-3 over Shu-Lun Change and Thomas O'Donnell.
Zach Malcomb and
Nick Boquet defeated John-Paul Collins and Andrew Le 8-2 at the second spot and
Derek Fuhr and
Noah Sam were perfect against Gabriel Saldivar and Ronan O'Riley for an 8-0 victory at number three.
UTD continued the momentum by winning five of the singles matches against the Crusaders (0-3).
Aryan Sharma defeated O'Donnell 6-1, 6-0 at number two and Boquet was a 6-2, 6-1 winner against Collins at three.
Malcomb topped Le 6-1, 6-0 in the fourth spot and Sam won over Saldivar 6-1, 6-0 at number five. Fuhr won against O'Riley 6-0, 6-0 in number six singles.
The only loss for UTD came down to a tiebreaker at number one. UD's Change defeated Yerragudi 4-6, 6-4, 12-10.
The Comets will travel to UT Arlington to face the Division I program at 10 a.m. Saturday.
