SANFORD, Fla. - The UT Dallas baseball team lost to Salve Regina 7-3 on the Comets' second day of the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational at Sanford Memorial Stadium Saturday.
The Comets (8-7) were outhit by the Seahawks (2-2) 14-8, despite UTD striking out 11 batters and drawing 11 walks from the SRU pitching staff.
Salve Regina opened the the game with Matt D'Amato reaching on a base hit and Tyler Cannoe homering to go up 2-0. UTD picked up a run in the bottom of the frame after a 
Jaeger Self doubled and scored on a single by 
Dylan Bivins. The Seahawks tacked on another run in the third on a Cannoe RBI-single.
In the bottom of the sixth, 
Luke Finn walked and was followed by a home run over the right field fence by catcher 
Austin Nairn, tying the game at 3-3. SRU regained the lead with a pair of runs in the seventh and added two more in the eighth for the final score. 
UT Dallas Notes
- Nairn's two-run home run was the first of his UTD career.
- Self was 2-for-2 with a double, run scored and three walks.
- Bivins went 2-for-4 with a RBI and a walk.
- Second baseman 
Andrew Skivington singled, improving his hit streak to 13 games.
- 
Grayson Coltharp and 
Robert Hines also had hits.
- 
Connor Ray struck out three while allowing two hits in 1.1 innings of relief.
- 
Kasey Klyng struck out five over 4.1 innings in the losing effort.
Salve Regina Notes
- Cannoe drove in three runs and was 2-for-3 with the home run.
- D'Amato went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a RBI, two doubles and a sacrifice bunt.
- Center fielder Brandon Grover was 2-for-4 with a RBI.
- Second baseman Dustin Siqueira was 3-for-4 with three runs scored, a RBI and a double.
- Graham Jeffries earned the win and Jason Arrigo picked up the save.
