WACO, Texas - The UT Dallas men's tennis team dropped a close 5-4 decision to Concordia Texas at the Waco Regional Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Tornados (11-2) opened by taking two of the three doubles matches. The Comets (5-5) earned their first point at number three, where
Eddy Shteyn and
Jed De Luna topped Andres Padilla and Daniel Beckles 8-5.
At number one singles,
Snehin Yerragudi was bested by #19 Joshua Bode of Concordia, 6-4, 6-2. The Comets took points at number three, where
Nathan Qi defeated Padilla 6-3, 6-1 and
Ritvik Ganesan improved to 7-2 on the year by defeating Esteban Arredondo 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) at number four. De Luna also won at number six against Jorge Garcia 6-2, 6-0.
Tied at 4-4, the final point came down to fifth singles, where Beckles pulled out a three-set victory against
Aryan Sharma 5-7, 6-1, 6-4 to give Concordia the win.
UTD will return to American Southwest Conference East Division play when they travel to LeTourneau on Friday at 2 p.m.
