DALLAS - The UT Dallas men's tennis team took on SMU, the 55th-ranked team in NCAA Division I, falling 7-0 at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Center Sunday night.
The Mustangs (13-13) took the point in doubles with Antonio Muniz-Hidalgo and Julian Steinhausen defeating the Comets' (5-6) tandem of
Nathan Qi and
Ritvik Ganesan 6-3 at number one.
Snehin Yerragudi and
Nick Boquet dropped a 6-1 decision to Jack Winkler and Jordi Redelijk 6-1 at number two.
SMU won all six singles matches, but UTD proved to be competitive. Winkler topped Yerragudi 6-3, 6-3 at the top spot and Kyle Pham defaed
Aryan Sharma 6-1, 7-5 at number five. Eli Susser was a 6-4, 6-4 winner over
Jed De Luna.
The Comets will play at LeTourneau in Longview, Texas at 2 p.m. Monday in an American Southwest Conference East Division battle.
