ABILENE, Texas - The UT Dallas softball team lost to McMurry 7-2 in the American Southwest Conference series finale at Edwards Field Saturday afternoon.
The host War Hawks (9-2, 3-0 ASC) outhit the Comets (5-6, 0-3 ASC) 11-6 in the game and took advantage of three errors.
McMurry scored three runs in the second, added another in the third and first baseman Bre Barajas had a two-run double in the fourth to go up 6-0.
UTD got on the board in the sixth when catcher
Megan Todd singled in
Claire Pollack. After another War Hawk run in the bottom of the sixth, the Comets loaded the bases in the seventh with no outs.
Evelyn Santos drew a walk, scoring
Marisa Mejia for the final run of the game.
UT Dallas Notes
- Santos was 1-for-1 with a RBI and a walk.
- Todd and Mejia each added a hit, as did third baseman
Addison Caddell.
- Pollack scored and stole a base.

- Barajas was 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double.
- Left fielder Angelica Abila was 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI.
- Jade Dickens and Grace Duecker each had two hits, a RBI and arun scored.
- Jenna Lewis (5-1) earned the win, striking out eight while allowing six hits, two runs and three walks.
