RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas baseball team dropped the American Southwest Conference series finale to McMurry, 9-7, Sunday afternoon at the UTD Baseball Field.
The War Hawks (4-9, 3-3 ASC) outhit the Comets (6-5, 3-3 ASC) 14-8 while the home team left 12 runners on base.
McMurry took a 4-0 lead into the bottom of the third. UTD second baseman
Andrew Skivington made it 4-1 with a solo home run over the left field fence to start the frame. The Comets took advantage of an error in the fourth to half their deficit 4-2.
Back-to-back bases loaded walks drawn by
Daniel Zamora and
Austin Nairn tied the game in the fifth. The War Hawks answered with two runs in the top of the sixth and a three-run homer by Dylan Lee in the seventh go back up 9-4. The Comets plated three runs on two hits, two errors, a hit batter and two walks in the bottom of the seventh. First baseman
Robert Hines started the inning with a solo blast.
UT Dallas Notes
- Skivington was 2-for-4 with a double, home run, two runs scored, a RBI and a pair of walks. He extend his hitting streak to nine games.
- Hines' home run was the second of the season.Â

Dylan Bivins recorded a pair of hits.
- Zamora and Nairn each drew two walks.

Kasey Klyng pitched three scoreless innings in relief, allowing just two walks and no hits with four strikeouts.

McMurry Notes
- Center fielder Koy Carpenter was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a steal from the leadoff spot.
- Riley Hood had two hits and drove in two on a double.
- Lee was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and the three-run homer.
- Noah Scherencel and Michael Smosna both added two hits.
- Dylan Schafer earned the save with a perfect ninth inning.
