RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's tennis team lost 7-0 to NCAA Division II member St. Mary's (Texas) at the UTD Tennis Courts Sunday afternoon.
The visiting Rattlers (6-4) took the doubles point from the Comets (4-4) by winning two of the three matches. UTD's
Nathan Qi and
Ritvik Ganesan won in the second spot 6-3 over Sebastian Azcui and Aaron Ben Anton.
St. Mary's won all six singles matches, but three of the battles went to a third set.
Eddy Shteyn lost to Daniel Matheu Baldor 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 at number two. Ganesan also took the first set from Oskar Irdoja at number four, before falling 6-7 (3-7), 6-0, 6-3.
Aryan Sharma took Jake Faryniarz to the limit with a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 decision at number five.
The Comets will return to conference action on Friday, March 10 when they host Ozarks at 2 p.m.
