RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas softball team lost to Dallas Christian 5-4 at the UTD Softball Field Wednesday evening.
The Lady Crusaders (5-33-1) took a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the third. The Comets (18-8) cut the deficit to 3-2 in the third, starting with a solo home run over the left field fence by freshman shortstop
Avery Taylor and
Riley Westmoreland walking and later scoring on an error.
DCC first baseman Kaylee Brent hit a two-run homer in the top of the sixth to go up 5-2. In the bottom of the frame,
Sarah Lewis led off with a double and was pinch ran for by
Kailey Gonzales, who reached third on a passed ball.
Olivia Reed doubled in Gonzales to make it 5-3. UTD's final run came on an error later in the inning.
The Lady Crusaders outhit the Comets 10-9.
