RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas department of athletics had its best ever finish in the Learfield Directors Cup standings, sponsored by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. 

The Comets sent five teams to the NCAA Division III championships, earning 234.5 points and finishing 77th in the nation out of 442 institutions.

The men's golf team racked up 61.5 points with a 14th place finish at last month's tournament in Kentucky. The women's golfers also placed 14th, earning 48 points at the competition in Florida.

The UTD women's tennis and volleyball squads each earned 50 points by advancing to the second round of their respective championship tournaments. The Comet women's basketball team claimed 25 points by qualifying for the D-III Championship.

UT Dallas won the most American Southwest Conference titles in 2022-23, taking five of the 15 sports they compete in. Six other ASC schools were in the Directors' Cup standings. 

The Comets' previous best finish in the Directors' Cup was 111th in 2018-19.
