RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team posted a 78-67 win over Ozarks in American Southwest Conference action at the UTD Activity Center Saturday afternoon.
With the second win over the Eagles (6-13, 1-9 ASC) this week, the Comets (12-7, 8-2) remain in second place in the league standings, just a game out of first place. Six games remain on the regular season schedule.
The first half remained close with UTD coming out ahead 35-32 at halftime. The Comets maintained at least a five-point lead int he second period, and pushed the advantage to as much as 16 with three minutes to play before ending the game with an 11-point victory.
In a game that featured a combined 47 fouls, the Comets went 26-of-33 at the free throw line, both season-highs. They secured the game by going 18-for-21 (85.7 percent) in the second half.
Overall, UTD shot 44 percent (22-for-50) from the field and 8-for-23 from outside with 34 rebounds, 18 assists, 19 turnovers, six blocks and seven steals.
Ozarks shot 41.5 percent (22-of-53) from the field, 8-for-23 from three-point range and 15-of-26 at the line with 30 boards, 18 assists, 21 turnovers, two blocks and 11 steals.

Donovan Souter extended his double-digit scoring streak to 18 games, netting 18 points.

Austin Paged recorded 12 points, five rebounds and three blocked shots.

Rob Wade hit a trio of three-pointers en route to 11 points to go with five rebounds.

Luke Kiser dished out 10 assists and went 9-for-9 at the free throw line for nine points.Â

Jordan Balderaz recorded nine points, nine rebounds and three steals.
- Sophomore guard
Everett Bates hit a pair of threes and scored a career-high seven points.

- Josh Ukpe led the Eagles with 16 points and three steals.
- Justice Marmara had 13 points, four assists and two blocks.
- Timquorian Johnson played 39 minutes for seven points and seven rebounds.
- Jordan Jenkins added nine points off the bench.
