RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to 10 after shutting out Hardin-Simmons 2-0 at the UTD Soccer Field Thursday evening.
The Comets (10-1-2) posted its third straight shutout and sixth on the year, outshooting the Cowboys (9-4-2) 22-3 overall and 11-2 on goal.
After a scoreless first half, senior midfielder
Benny Lube hit a shot over the keeper's head after a touch from freshman
Osi Iyamah in the 69th minute. Senior
Vaughn Morgan made it 2-0 in the 84th minute by beating the goalkeeper to the right of the goal after a deflection and fastbreak.
UTD also led in corner kick chances 10-1.Â
UT Dallas Notes
- The Comets reached the 10-win mark for the 24th time in 27 seasons.
- Lube's goal was his fourth of the year and second game-winner.
- Morgan now has three goals in his career and two this season.
- Iyamah recorded his first assist at UTD.
