REDLANDS, Calif. - The UT Dallas women's basketball team completed its two-game trip to California with another win Saturday evening, topping Redlands 56-51 at Currier Gym.
The host Bulldogs (2-2) jumped out to a 10-2 lead over the first three minutes of the game, however the Comets (2-2) responded with an 18-6 run, spilling over into the second quarter, taking a 20-16 lead.
UTD managed a 24-19 advantage at halftime. and led for most of the rest of the contest. UR led 36-35 with 1:31 left in the third, but a pair of free throws by
Cierra Trigg on the next possession gave the Comets the lead for good.
The Comets led by as many as seven points at the 4:07 mark. The Bulldogs cut the deficit to 52-51 at the 1:24 mark. UTD sealed the game with a pair of free throws each by
Alex Bowman and
Jordyn Hofmann in the final six seconds.
UTD shot 30.5 percent (18-of-59) overall, 6-of-20 from three-point range and a perfect 14-of-14 at the free throw line. They also had a season-best 42 rebounds, nine assists, 14 turnovers, five blocks and four steals.
Redlands shot 31.4 percent (16-for-51) from the field, 6-of-20 from outside and 13-of-16 at the line with 34 boards, 11 assists, 14 turnovers, three blocks and nine steals.
UT Dallas Notes
- Bowman scored in double-digits for the third time this year, coming up with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting. She also had seven rebounds, a block and a steal.
- Graduate student forward
Anna Yellen was 4-for-8 from outside, scoring 16 points with a career-high six rebounds.
- Freshman center
Ellery Sample scored eight points with a team-high eight rebounds and a blocked shot.
- Trigg finished wit seven points and a pair of steals.
- Junior guard Amanda Crowinshield added five points, five rebounds and three assists.

Redlands Notes
- Alex Facelo led the Bulldogs with 18 points, going 6-for-13 from three-point range.
- AJ Wick had a double-double of 16 points and 16 rebounds to go with two assists, two blocks and two steals.
- Colbi Zorich scored 12 points.
- Leila Hosn recorded five points, five assists and three steals.
