MARSHALL, Texas - The UT Dallas men's soccer team ended the 2024 season with a 5-2 win against East Texas Baptist at Cornish Field Saturday night.
The Comets (13-1-2) extended it's unbeaten streak to 13 contests and concluded the 27th straight winning season - every year in program history. It was the winningest season in program history with a percentage of .875 and ties the school record for fewest losses with one.
Sophomore forward
Eliott Detroyat put UTD on the board in the 31st minute on a pass from senior
Riley O'Donnell. The Tigers (8-9-1) tied it up on a penalty kick from Joel Garica in the 34th minute.Â
Early in the second half, Garcia assisted Junior Lopez' score to give ETBU a 2-1 advantage. O'Donnell connected with senior
Benny Lube in the 57th minute to knot it up.Â
O'Donnell posted what turned out to be the game-winner on a pass from
Hamza Syed in the 68th minute.
Carson Burden and
Cayden Casburn added insurance goals in the 70th and 73rd minutes, respectively.
The Comets outshot the Tigers 35-12 overall and 14-6 on target. UTD also took seven corner kicks with none for ETBU.

- O'Donnell finished the year leading the Comets with 11 goals and seven assists. He ended his career ranked third in program history in points (97), tied for third in goals (39) and second in assists (19).Â
- Detroyat netted his second goal of the year.
- Casburn scored his fourth goal over the last three contests.
- Syed posted his third assist of the year and eighth in his career.
- Burden and Lube tied for second on the year with five goals.Â
- Sophomore keeper
Anthony Alston recorded four saves. He ended his scoreless minutes streak at 522:36, the second-best in school history.Â
- The match was the final in the career for

Kayson Marriott,
Kaleem Shabout, Casburn, O'Donnell, Lube and

East Texas Baptist Notes
- Garcia's goal was his eighth of the year and Lopez scored his 10th.
- Anthony Lozada recorded nine saves in goal.
- Kyu Peterson played all 90 minutes.
