RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball won its second game in as many days, defeating Schreiner 66-49 at the UTD Activity Center Sunday afternoon.
Both teams struggled offensively in the first quarter with the visiting Mountaineers (1-6) leading 11-9 at the end of the period. Schreiner went up 16-11 early in the second, but the Comets (4-3) outscored them 21-7 to take a 10-point advantage into halftime.
UTD continue pushed the lead to to as many as 22 in the fourth quarter before ending the day with a 17-point victory.
The Comets shot 40 percent (24-of-60) from the field, 6-of-22 from three-point range and 12-of-21 at the free throw line. They also recorded a season-best 44 rebounds, 18 assists, 19 turnovers, five blocks and 10 steals.
The Mountaineers shot 30.4 percent (17-for-56) overall, 4-for-14 from outside and 11-of-17 at the line with 37 rebounds, 12 assists, 19 turnovers, five blocks and 10 steals.
UT Dallas Notes
- Senior guard
Alex Bowman netted a season-high 20 points with four steals and two assists. She is averaging 17.5 points over the last four games.

Anna Yellen sank four three-pointers en route to 12 points with four rebounds. She leads the team with 14 three-pointers made on the season.
- Junior forward
Liv Pedigo scored seven points and pulled down a season-high seven rebounds.
- Senior
Trystan Clark dished out five assists for the third time this season to go with a pair of steals and five points.

Ellery Sample each posted five points as well.

Emery Espinoza each came down with five rebounds.
- Junior guard
Amanda Crowninshield passed out three assists.
Schreiner Notes
- Tamia Moody led the Mountaineers with 10 points and had three assists.
- Skye Thomas recorded nine points and seven boards.
- Aylene Ortega recorded eight points, five rebounds and a pair of blocks in just eight minutes.
