Comets Fall to D-I Roos

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The UT Dallas women's basketball suffered a 94-60 defeat to NCAA Division I member Kansas City at the Swinney Center Saturday afternoon.

Outside of a 2-2 tie, the host Roos (3-5) led the entire game, shooting 50.7 (34-for-67) from the field. The Comets (4-5) shot 41.2 percent (21-for-51) overall, including 64.3 percent (9-14) in the fourth quarter.

UTD was also 4-for-12 from three-point range and 14-for-17 from the free throw line with 29 rebounds, 14 assists, 31 turnovers, four blocks and seven steals.

Kansas City went 3-of-11 from outside and 23-of-30 from the stripe with 36 boards, 20 assists, 17 turnovers, two blocks and 20 steals.

UT Dallas Notes
- Junior guard Amanda Crowninshield scored a season-best 10 points with five rebounds. She was 3-for-3 at the free throw line.
- Freshman center Ellery Sample came up with nine points, three rebounds, a block and a steal. She leads UTD with nine blocks
- Forward Addy Self added eight points and three steals. She leads the Comets with 14 steals on the year.
- Freshman Elsy Hartman scored a season-high six points on 3-of-4 shooting.
- Senior center Jordyn Hofmann was 2-for-2 for four points and a blocked shot.
- Emery Espinoza dished out four assists.
- Cierra Trigg scored five points and Raven Busby chipped in four.

Kansas City Notes
- Emani Bennett paced the Roos with 15 points, seven rebounds and six steals.
- Chloe Dallas scored 14 points and pulled down four rebounds.
- Ana Oliveira scored 12 points and had six assists off the bench.
- Alayna Contreras and Elauni Bennett each had 10 points. Bennett was 5-for-5 from the field.

Up Next
UTD will be off until Wednesday, December 18 when they take on Southwestern (Texas) in Georgetown at 5:30 p.m.
