RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team shot lights out in a 95-79 senior day win against Concordia Texas at the UTD Activity Center Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Comets (15-8) remain in a tie for first place with Hardin-Simmons atop the American Southwest Conference standings with two games to play. UTD has guaranteed at least a second place finish and a bye to the ASC Championship Tournament Semifinals. The top seed will host the semis and finals on February 23-24.
The visiting Tornados (9-14, 6-8 ASC) led the Comets 40-38 with 2:09 left in the opening period, but the home team ended the half on a 9-3 run, taking a 47-43 lead into the break. UTD led throughout the first half, although Concordia cut the deficit to one with 14:23 remaining. The Comets pushed their lead to as many as 18 before ending the game with a 16-point victory.
UTD had one of its best shooting performances of the year, making 57.7 percent (30-for-52) of shots, including a season-best 54.5 percent (12-of-22) from three-point territory. They were also 23-of-34 at the line to go with 44 rebounds, 27 assists, 24 turnovers and 10 steals.
Concordia shot 41.7 percent (25-of-60) overall, 7-for-26 from outside and 22-of-30 at the free throw line with 23 rebounds, 19 assists, 14 turnovers, two blocks and 10 steals.

UT Dallas Notes
- Souter recorded his fourth consecutive 20-plus point performance, going for 24 while draining six three-pointers. He also had five rebounds and three assists.
- Junior guard
Nick Donnelly was 5-for-6 from three-point range en route to 22 points.
- Sophomore center
Austin Page scored 16 points, grabbed eight boards and recorded two steals.
- Freshman
Jordan Balderaz added 11 points and six rebounds.
- Kiser dished out nine assists, moving into fifth place on the school's career list with 320.
- Forward
Rob Wade came up with eight points and six rebounds off the bench.
- Freshman forward
Franklin Onyeme scored six points with a season-best eight rebounds.
- Guard
Matthew Soto had five points, four assists and a pair of steals.
Concordia Texas Notes
- Donovan Stafford led the Tornados with 25 points, six rebounds and five steals.
- Corey Thompson had 15 points, four rebounds and three assists off the bench.
- Henri Marcus Vizcarrondo Jr. netted 11 points.
- Aaron San Miguel had 10 points and seven assists.
