SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The 2023-24 UT Dallas men's basketball campaign ended Saturday night with a 77-63 loss to #19 Nebraska Wesleyan in the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament at the Bell Center.

UTD built a 24-13 lead over the first nine minutes of the first half, but the Prairie Wolves (25-4) answered with a 26-12 run to go up by three late in the period.
Donovan Souter hit a jumper and
Matthew Soto buried a three-pointer in the final 90 seconds of the half to give the Comets a 41-39 advantage at the break.
NWU's Peter Lash hit a three-pointer 38 seconds into the second period and they would hang on to the lead the rest of the game. The Prairie Wolves would go up by 12 points at the 5:37 mark, but the comets fought back to cut the deficit to 67-61 with 2:57 remaining. NWU advanced to the Sectionals round of the tournament by scoring 10 of the final 12 points in the game.
UTD shot 55.2 percent (16-for-29) in the first half, but was held to 18.8 (6-for-32) in the second for a total of 36.1 percent (22-for-61) during the game. They were also 9-of-24 from three-point range and 10-of-15 at the free throw line with 28 rebounds, 12 assists, 16 turnovers, two blocks and 13 steals.
NWU shot 50 percent (25-for-50) overall, 8-for-19 from outside and 19-of-23 at the line with 40 boards, 17 assists, 23 turnovers, six blocks and 11 steals.
UT Dallas Notes
- Guard
Luke Kiser led the Comets with 15 points, eight rebounds and four steals. He ended the season tied for second in school history with 159 assists on the year and third with 350 in his career.
- Souter scored 14 points with five rebounds and two steals. He broke the UTD season record with 98 three-pointers this season and finished third with 553 points.
- Junior guard
Nick Donnelly hit a trio of three-pointers for 11 points.
- Sophomore center
Austin Page finished with five points, seven rebounds, four assists and two blocks.

Thibaut Tagnon recorded five points, four assists and three steals.

Rob Wade had four points each.

- Lash led all players with 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
- Jack Groeteke recorded 15 points, seven boards and four blocks.
- Landon Torneten scored 14 points on 5-for-5 shooting.
- Carter Glenn had 11 points, six assists and three steals.
- Conner Brown and Andrew Brewer each scored eight points with six rebounds for Brewer.
