RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's tennis team won its American Southwest Conference East Division opener on Wednesday, defeating LeTourneau 8-1 at the UTD Tennis Courts.
The Comets (3-2, 1-0 ASC East) took two of the three doubles matchups from the YellowJackets (3-7, 0-1 ASC East) to open the contest.
Nick Boquet and
Benjamin Dubois blanked Alex Barrero and Liam Wedge at number two and
Snehin Yerragudi and
Noah Sam defeated Timothy Black and John Lewis 8-3 in the third flight.
UTD went on to win all six singles skirmishes.
Andres Gonzalez defeated Zach Farris 6-4, 6-1 in the top spot and
Nathan Qi needed a third set tiebreaker to win over Chase Rogers 3-6, 6-3, 10-4.
Yerragudi did not lose a point to Barrero for a 6-0, 6-0 victory at three. Dubois and Boquet won easily and four and five, respectively, and
Jed De Luna blanked Black 6-0, 6-0 at six.
