MARSHALL, Texas - The UT Dallas baseball team lost both games of an American Southwest Conference double-header to #4/5 East Texas Baptist at Woods Field Friday. The first place Tigers (30-6, 19-1) won both games 5-1.
Game OneÂ
Left fielder Connor Massimini gave ETBU a 2-0 lead in the first with a home run to right center. The Comets (24-11, 13-7) scored their only run in the second when
Brayshon Savage reached on an error and was driven in on a
Luke Finn sacrifice fly later in the inning.Â
Shortstop Dylan Burnaman also hit a two-run homer in the second to go up 4-1. The Tigers tacked one one more run in the fifth.
ETBU outhit UTD 10-6 overall and recorded more walks, 5-2, in the seven-inning contest.
Game Two
The Comets scored the first run of the game in the second when
Zach Landry led off with a single and was doubled in by
Efren Munoz.
The Tigers went up 3-1 in the fourth on four hits and a bases loaded walk. Nick Massarini had a RBI-double in the sixth and Hunter Rumachik hit a solo home run in the eighth for the final 5-1 tally.
ETBU led in hits 9-6.
UT Dallas Notes
- Landry was 2-for-3 with a double in game one and added a hit and a run in the nightcap.

Dylan Bivins moved his hitting streak to 15 games with a single in game one, but ended in the second contest.
- Munoz had a hit in both games, including the RBI-double in game two.

Jaeger Self had a hit and stole base in the opener.

- Sayers Collins (9-1) struck out nine, allowing two walks five hits and an unearned run in the first game.
- Brayden Hodges threw a scoreless seventh.
- Jagger Neely (8-1) also struck out nine over seven innings in game two.
- Robert Croft earned his seventh save.
- Massamini drove in three in game one and added two more hits in the nightcap.
- Rumachik had the solo home run and a sac fly in game two and two hits in the opener.
