YellowJackets Take Two from Comets

LONGVIEW, Texas - The UT Dallas softball team lost both games of an American Southwest Conference double-header at LETU Softball Field Thursday. 

The host YellowJackets (17-17, 10-10 ASC) took game one 8-0 in six innings, then defeated the Comets (15-18, 6-13) 7-1 in the nightcap.

Game One
LeTourneau outhit UTD 10-3, including 4-0 in extra-base hits. The game ended with three runs and a pair of doubles in the sixth for the run-rule victory. 

Game Two
The YellowJackets took an early 5-0 lead after the first two innings. The Comets' lone run came in the fifth when Erin Ledesma led off with a single up the middle, was bunted to second by Celeste Soliz and scored on a base hit to center by Addison Caddell

LETU outhit the Comets 9-7 in the second game.

UT Dallas Notes
- Cole Johnson, Soliz and Ledesma each had a base hit in game one.
- McKenzie Cutbirth (10-5) took the loss in the circle in game one.
- Caddell was 2-for-4 with the RBI in game two.
- Ledesma was 2-for-3 with a run scored in the second game.
- Soliz, Claire Pollack and Gracelyn Taylor each had a hit as well in the nightcap.
- Allison Koch (2-5) took the loss in game two.

LeTourneau Notes 
- Leighton Landreth was 5-for-7 with three RBI, two runs and three doubles on the day.
- Catcher Kylie Grisham was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a stolen base in the opener.
- Hailee Leger (7-8) struck out three and allowed three hits over six innings in the game one victory.
- Jenna Carter was 3-for-4 with two RBI, two runs scored, two doubles and a home run in the second game.
- Laney Taylor earned the win in the circle in game two.
