RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer team defeated Centenary (La.) 10-0 in an exhibition match Friday night at the UTD Soccer Field.
The Comets took 36 shots, 20 on goal, and had eight different players find the net. The Ladies were held to just three shots, one on goal, all of which were on free kicks.
Freshman
Jules Chavez led the UTD attack with a hat trick and an assist off of nine shots. She scored all three goals, sandwiched with her assist on
Layla Rangel's, over a period of 10:05 early in the second half.
Junior forward
Chelsea Vilca and freshman defender
Rowen Hughes each recorded a goal and an assist. Ameila Griffin,
Kalyn Brewer, Alicia Aguiñaga and
Lauren Hart also registered goals.
Freshman midfielder
Cate Casanova came up with a pair of assists.
Elizabeth Campos,
Kaley Robison,
Emily Seymour and
Makayla Varela also added helpers.
Jade Press had one save in goal.
Centenary goalkeeper Zoe Keller recorded 10 saves. Kylie Zeller took two shots, one on goal.Â
UTD will host UC Santa Cruz on Sunday at 2 p.m. in an exhibition for the Comets but a countable game for the Banana Slugs.
