MARSHALL, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball team lost 74-51 to East Texas Baptist at Ornelas Gymnasium Saturday afternoon, ending an five-game win streak.
The Tigers (13-3) led the Comets (9-6) 25-6 after the first quarter, which included an 18-0 run for ETBU and nine turnovers by UTD. The Comets' best quarter came in the second when they outscored the Tigers 19-14, but still trailed 39-25 going into the break. ETBU managed to keep a double-digit lead through the entire second half.
For the game, UTD shot 28.6 percent (16-for-56) overall, 6-for-24 from three-point range and 13-of-15 at the free throw line. They also recorded 34 rebounds, nine assists, 22 turnovers, one block and seven steals.Â
East Texas Baptist shot 47.3 percent (26-for-55) from the field, 8-of-19 from outside and 14-of-20 at the stripe with 36 rebounds, 20 assists, 17 turnovers, three blocks and 17 steals.
UT Dallas Notes
- Freshman center led the Comets with 10 points, six rebounds and a blocked shot. This was her third double-digit scoring performance of the season and second in a row.
- Junior forward
Liv Pedigo scored five points, hitting a three-pointer.
- Freshman
Emery Espinoza scored five points with three rebounds in just seven minutes off the bench.

Alex Bowman led UTD with three steals and scored five points.
- Junior guard
Raven Busby also scored five and tied her career-high with three assists.
- Senior guard
Cierra Trigg scored four points and grabbed six boards.

East Texas Baptist Notes
- Madison Hurta led the Tigers with 20 points, going 4-for-5 from three-point territory, and dished out four assists.
- Hannah Matthews was 4-for-4 shooting for 10 points and six rebounds.
- Payton Hicks added 10 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals.
- Kadia Ward had seven points and seven rebounds off the bench.
- The Tigers were receiving votes in both the D3hoops.com and WBCA Top 25 Division III polls.
