Joe Shotland secured his 50th victory as the UT Dallas women's basketball head coach with a 74-30 win over LeTourneau at the Activity Center Thursday night.
Shotland, in his third season, picked up win number 50 in his 72nd game at the helm of the Comets - the fastest to that milestone in program history.
UTD (11-6) achieved the victory in dominate fashion by holding the YellowJackets (7-11) to 20.4 percent shooting overall (10-for-49), 11.8 percent (2-for-17) from outside while forcing 24 turnovers.
The Comets shot 66.7 percent (8-for-12) in the first quarter to take a 19-11 lead. LeTourneau went 0-for-12 from the field and scored just two points at the free throw line in the second period, giving UTD a 37-13 advantage at the break. The YellowJackets managed only five points in the fourth quarter, giving the Comets a 44-point victory - the biggest in Shotland's career.
For the game, UT Dallas shot 43.3 percent (26-of-60) from the floor, 4-for-18 from three-point range and 18-of-22 at the line. They also had 46 rebounds, 18 assists, 14 turnovers, six blocks and 15 steals.
LETU were 8-for-12 at the stripe with 27 rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and eight steals.

- Graduate student
Anna Yellen led the Comets in scoring with 16 points to go with two assists, a block and a steal.
- Freshman center
Ellery Sample was 6-for-6 shooting en route to 13 points.
- Forward Adddy Self pulled down seven rebounds with 10 points, three assists, a block and a three steals.
- Freshman guard
Jayla Lewis scored 10 points with a season-high four assists. She was 6-for-6 at the free throw line.
- Senior guard
Cierra Trigg added seven points and six rebounds.
- Junior forward
Liv Pedigo had five points, five boards and two assists.

Jordyn Hofmann grabbed four rebounds.

Trystan Clark recorded three steals and moved into eighth place on the UTD career list with 139.
