UTD Wins Inaugural Lone Star Game Against OC

RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's soccer team won its first Lone Star Conference in program history, topping Oklahoma Christian 2-1 at the UTD Soccer Field Wednesday night.

The visiting Eagles (2-3-1, 0-1 LSC), who defeated the Comets (5-3-1, 1-0 LSC) 3-1 in a non-conference match last week, led in shots 10-9 overall with both teams taking four shots on goal. UTD led in corner kicks 5-4 and both squads committed nine fouls. 

First Half Highlights
- UTD attempted its first shot in the 5th minute, followed by a corner kick.  
- OC took the lead in the 21st minute with a goal by Ethan Nakolo, assisted by Gerome Gohlke and goalkeeper Nick Hardiman.  
- Carson Burden equalized for the Comets in the 35th minute, assisted by Ryan Anderson and Jordan Jones.  
- Both teams entered halftime at a 1-1 draw.

Second Half Highlights
- Avery Brazzell scored for the Comets in the 52nd minute, assisted by Kingsley Annan on a throw-in, to give the home team a 2-1 lead.  
- The Eagles pressed with multiple shots, including attempts by Igor Caballero and Nakolo, but failed to capitalize.  
- Goalkeeper Ryder Claborn made crucial saves in the 82nd and 86th minutes to preserve the lead for UTD.
